This smoothie is a real vitamin C booster. Vitamin C strengthens your immune system and helps fighting free radicals.
Camu (or camu camu) berries grow in tropical climates like the Peruvian rain forest. They are reddish, cherry like fruits that contain the second highest vitamin C contents of all fruits and vegetables. Just one teaspoon of camu powder contains 1,180 percent RDA vitamin C content. Use the powder in drinks, smoothies, snacks and salads. Vitamin C is not heat stable and looses its benefit when being heated, so I would recommend using camu powder only in raw food recipes.
Hemp seeds are highly saturated with good quality, plant-based protein. Hemp seeds contain all essential amino acids plus a wide range of minerals, including iron, potassium, zinc and magnesium.
Lucuma is a very fine powder made from the lucuma fruit, which is native to South America. It has a sweet, maple- like flavor (but is very low in sugars) which makes it a great addition to smoothies and desserts.
