Pear Banana Oat Breakfast Smoothie
This is a great and delicious on-the-go breakfast or even an in between snack. But I would only make it if you have activated oats at home. Oats contain a high amount of phytic acid which binds to minerals and hence interferes with their absorption. I activate groats by soaking them in water for 48 hours with whey and a bit of buckwheat or rye flour, then rinsing them well, draining them and drying them in the oven for a couple of hours at a low temperature. Only then do I roll them into rolled oats at one of the bulk food stores with a grain mill.
Cold, nutritious, delicious!!

- 1 ripe banana, peeled

- 1tbsp honey
- 1/2 cup of dairy free plain yogurt or vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup organic apple juice (not from concentrate etc)
- Two ice cubes
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Serve chilled.
